on the menu tonight… a trip to NYC

Tonight was a culinary adventure… Dined with amazing friends at a hidden treasure in the South Village, or to some SoHo. Immediately whisked away to our seats, the ambiance was clean and modern, with waiters reflecting the same… After ordering a drink, [an old fashioned] it was time to peruse through a menu that would tempt any palate… After a difficult, although excellent choice, I decided upon Frito Misto as my appetizer and the Risotto al Tartufo Bianco as main course. The Frito Misto was perfectly cooked and delicately breaded. The lemon wedge provided was a wonderful compliment to an already superb flavor. After a restful period, the risotto appeared… 1/2 inch biased cut asparagus adorned the dish, but the star… the white truffle was hand carried to the table in a tall glass jar and shaved to meet the recipients specific desire… The flavor of the white truffle was wonderous and added just the right touch to an already creamy and delicate meal…
Dessert was exquisite… instead of selecting from the menu, we all trekked a few steps away to the comfort of our close friends home. A dollop of homemade whipped cream adorned a delicate lemon souffle, dusted softly with powdered sugar… The only words to describe this flaky and luxurious pastry… heavenly…

I will dream now of tasting all of these flavors again as I rest my head and close my eyes…
