Saturday market shopping = Sunday dinner…

What a beautiful Saturday this has turned out to be! You would never think from the temps today that earlier this past week it was frigid… Tomorrow is a different story though and yet again we will all be re-introduced to old man winter… So enough about the weather right? I mean this blog is about cooking, dining out and other exciting related details!

So this morning I went to my local market and checked out what was looking especially delicious… I came across the veal shank [Osso Buco] and decided that would be an excellent Sunday night meal. This type of dinner is not something you think of doing at 5:00 in the evening and expect it to be on the table by 6:00… Osso Buco is cooked low and slow in order to soften what is a very tough cut of meat, and turn it into something fall off the bone delicious! Instead of a traditional risotto as a side, I thought I would do an Israeli couscous seasoned simply enough with some saffron… Sure am looking forward to this meal!!

Stay tuned…
